Last weekend we set off early in the to try out our neutral density filters at the Giants Causeway. We like landscape and are quite keen on motion blur effects with water. The weather was great for photos but was challenging. It was very windy, the wind blew up lots of spray from the sea, and this also meant that the waves were quite high. It rained unpredictably and it was really cold. The rocks were slippy and it was hard to keep the tripods still. The challenging light, sunny then not, made it tricky to get exposures right. Plus, we were shooting long exposures of between 10 and 30 seconds and I was manually focusing because my 10x ND filter was so dark! As we were finishing up a couple of foreign tourists turned up and started shouting at each other over the roar of the wind - I guess they were discussing composition. As we left for home hundreds more causeway visiters were being bused in. Good thing we got up so early.
Stories behind the pictures from our adventures within Ireland and abroad. Pictures mainly from where we live in Co Tyrone and Co Londonderry: Cookstown, Wellbrook, River Blackwater, Portstewart, Portrush, Castlerock, Coleraine. The North Coast of Ireland is a favourite spot for us.
